Step 1: Application review

Every pro applies through our platform and provides their name, contact info, service categories, and coverage area. We also collect their license number and proof of insurance at application time — not after approval.

Step 2: Document verification

We verify that submitted license documents are legitimate and current. Proof of insurance is checked to confirm adequate coverage. Pros without valid documentation are not approved, period.

Step 3: Manual approval

Our team reviews every application individually. Automated systems can be gamed — human review catches things algorithms miss. Every pro on DoneLocal was approved by a real person.

Step 4: The trust score system

Once a pro is active, we track every job they take. Completion rate, customer ratings, response time, and cancellation rate all feed into their trust score. Pros with high trust scores get first access to new jobs. Pros with declining scores get flagged for review.

What this means for you

When a pro shows up to your home, they've passed our documentation check, been manually approved, and have a track record on the platform. You're not rolling the dice on a random person from a listing site.

What happens if something goes wrong

If a job doesn't go as expected, our dispute system gives you a clear path to resolution. We review the situation and make it right — whether that means a redo, a partial refund, or a full refund depending on what happened. And pros who repeatedly generate disputes get suspended.

Our standard

We'd rather have fewer, better pros on the platform than a large roster of inconsistent ones. Quality over volume — that's the only way to build something homeowners can actually trust.
